Re: spam

I had minor strokes and totally ignored them. That was the worst decision of my life. Then the major strokes came for a visit. As a result, i did spend quite some time learning to speak and walk again. I had a lot luck that i survived my ignorance. And i didnt even smoke ;) Ignoring minor strokes is...

Re: Simple 3D for starters?

Nice, thanks for the links. More to read :-) @StarBootics I am looking into bare metal. Should be cross platform as my main platform is macOS. For a first try, I don't care about performance ^^ Many years ago, I had the German book "PC Underground". The authors were talking about wirefram...

Re: spam

Sometimes people are lucky thank goodness. A mate of mine had 3 micro strokes confirmed by MRI and he said all he felt was hot. Didn't seem to have any repercussions as a result. Has been smoking all his life and is strong and healthy. This is the prototype of an upcoming sad story like "My ma...

Re: Destroy a spam USER

The bot in question posted from 4 IP's and the posts also weren't the same. The default permissions for moderators doesn't allow for bulk deletes from a user, all we can do is delete specific posts or topics and ban users from posting. its a little frustrating but that's what it is. Sounds like a s...

Caronte3D wrote: Tue Nov 23, 2021 2:12 pm Another way:
If a post gets several spam reports, then ban the user
That would require some kind of user scoring system or otherwise malicious users could just create 5 new users, use those 5 users to do a spam report on somebody and have a script auto-ban any user :o

It's not posting the exact same post, though. They're slightly different.
They are rather simple to spot and im sure the phpbb creators have several solutions. Just need to find the best phpBB extension and install it.

You can develop something in purebasic using the network commands https://www.purebasic.com/documentation/network/index.html, or just use https://www.gnu.org/software/wget/ or something like https://www.samba.org/ or any other network file system https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_File_System or ...

Re: Extend CreateNetworkServer() in Linux ...

This might actually create problems for other TCP servers. Beware of side effects of using SO_REUSEADRESS in general! An easier way of being able to optionally use socket flags could however be useful IF it can be added in a backward compatible way. Adding useful examples of how to use ss on *nix so...
