I had the same thing with the parallel port, I had to buy a new printer to go with my last new computer simply because it only had usb ports. That's progress I suppose. :( Too bad for you. Luckily new printers have USB ports, but my ViperGC, SEGA Katana and all my homebrew PICs have to use a parall...

I am really mad now >.<
I have been thinking of upgrading my PC to have support for new technologies like 45nm CPUs and DDR3 RAM. One of the things that prevented me to find the perfect motherboard though was the lack of parallel port (DB-25) and game port (DA-15), and the lack of sufficient PCI slots. I really need all of...

Re-reading my post it may appear that I was being a little offhand. I didn't mean to put you down in any way, my reply was badly written. Sorry. :) You did not put me down tiger, but there is something you should quickly put down ^.^ I still believe that x86 is RISC though, and it stays like that ^...

It's a while since I tried GLBasic. As a supplement to what has already been said: - GLBasic has a great 3d graphics library with tons of ready-made commands, PB hasn't - PB is a real compiler that compiles to true machine code and comes close to C in speed. If it can be done in C, it can be done i...

So that all other creative zen players does not require their own software to transfer files? But I just got a broken version which requires that? I know one (1) other person with this player. Hers also froze. Of course it's broken. And it's by design! I have nothing to complain: an iAUDIO X5 (60GB...

Re: Is this possible?
I have a running PB application containing specific data. I can then use PB to access a website to a specific page. On that page are 6 fields that must be filled in and then submitted. Once that is done a web page is returned with an answer and displayed. I do not need to do anything other than vie...

Re: purebasic vs. GLbasic
Hi all, What is the advantages using purebasic to write games, rather than GLbasic? Thanks in advance :) PureBasic is designed more for application development, but can be used for game development too. GLBasic on the other hand is designed for creating games from basic to complex subjects and GLBa...

In my own projects I would use this kind of idea: Have a string with the build date (e.g. 02122008) and a function that will upon the request of the user check the server for a text file in your application. Whenever you make a new version of your application, replace the text file in the server to ...
