Re: Update 3D libraries

I don't use any 3D stuff, but I think the update to v6 presents a good opportunity/time to update to the latest libraries

Re: A simple sort problem?

glad to hear you've got it going :) I would still opt for an integer version over string manipulation though (though maybe it's not worth it)

Re: A simple sort problem?

Im guessing the existing sort routines won't work specifically for how you need them. How about creating a duplicate array, but modifying them so that, for example... 1 = 10000 2 = 20000 2A = 20256 (A = +256.... B = +257 etc) (or just +use their Asc() values) Please forgive me, my numbers are off, b...

Re: Read C variable in PB

It works, but I don't understand how @chaine can link to string v_ chaine :?: Because internally PB prepends the prefix "v_" to variables before compilation (and "p_" to pointers, etc) This is explained in the PB helpfile Inline Assembly section , as it also applies there when w...

Re: Running directly C code with v6.00

If you want to program in C, why you don't use a C compiler directly  I actually find it quite incredible - being able to use Purebasic + assembly + C in the same source code. Talk about POWER and FLEXIBILITY !!!!! :) I don't know of any other language which has this capability and flexibilit...

The syntax highlighting looks pretty good to me, but I just wish the code box was longer to show more lines of code!

Re: Linker from 2008 in Alpha from 2021?

If you want to have up to date toolchain for your personal use, you can still replace it. So you're confirming the PB toolchain can be updated :) I don't think upgrading it will break much if at all, it's just fixing bugs and security issues, so my guess is it would be a relatively smooth transitio...

For security reasons I would say Yes (there have been a lot of security bugfixes/upgrades during the last 13 years)
With the new v6 (and I know and respect it's still just an alpha!) I would hope all supporting libraries etc get upgraded to the latest version

Re: Include Binary Crashing Program

no, but to me if your program is crashing after ~5 seconds, I'd be surprised if it's related to IncludeBinary's Create a basic Hello World program that uses the same IncludeBinary's and see if that still crashes. If it doesn't, that would rule out the images being the problem. And try disabling your...

By any chance is your app multithreaded, or using a timer?
