Re: CreateImage(PB_Any)

It looks like it returns a descriptor, not an id. That's the ID. Well there is the ImageID(Number), which is basically the native image identifier of the operating system, and there is the PB Image Identifier. CreateXyz(Number, ...) often returns the XyzID(Number) and the Number is the PB Im...

Re: IDE ends without any message.

The same with beta 4. If I use the arrow keys or if I click into the procedure-list on the right side the IDE ends without any message. I have a german console-message:"Gleitkomma-Ausnahme (Speicherabzug geschrieben)" On linux you can easily switch languages for specific applications by s...

Re: Linux problems..

I'll try it, but note that the guy who posted that said he ran checkinstall and it said all was well, and he was still getting assembler errors. He never did report that the problem was solved. But he is using some fancy linux distribution nobody has ever heard of. There could be other problems. Ch...

Did you already try the checkinstall script as described above?

Re: Pick commands

The picking is implemented in a weird way though. Usually the scene is simply rendered into a offscreen buffer where each entity belongs to a color. From the color under the screen coordinate you can then get the entity back. This has nothing to do with bounding boxes usually! The rayxasting is all ...

Re: Hi-quality CPU Tuning of electronic bit reference

Hmm... I did not execute it, but from my understanding, what this code does is, it inserts multi byte nop operations, then xchg operations, and then it creates a code which is not actually being executed, but jumps to every external and internal symbol found? This could definitely work in some overl...

Re: Are multi-core processors really faster?

Just to clear up something. Anime Studio Pro only uses GPU while editing. It uses the CPU to render the final animation. It's a 2D/cartoon animation app. So no GPU rendering what so ever. On top of that. The Windows 10 computer has a newer graphics card than in the XP computer and more memory too. ...

Re: Are multi-core processors really faster?

Also depends highly on what you've rendered and with which rendering technique (radiosity, forward raytracing, backwards raytracing, ...).

Re: PowerBasic Kaput?

There has always been law changes like this which at first worry people and smaller businesses a lot. I bet with you that in 6 month there is a simply solution where people just pay a small monthly fee to comply with it. I assume something like 2 lawyers, 3 secretaries and a software developer will...

Re: PowerBasic Kaput?

did you know, that if you release a free app on Google Play or in iTunes, you'll still have to pay about 1000€ per language for each privacy policy, even if you're not doing this as a company? Citation needed, as I've never seen that. Or is it a new GDPR thing? First of all: I haven't read any real...

Re: PowerBasic Kaput?

The grace period ended in may 2018. GPRD was already over one year an applicable law. The now upcoming problems only show how lazy everyone was in respect to the new law, because they had a grace period. Never heard of GDPR before then. In which newspaper did you read about it two years ago? What d...

Not everyone needs a data compliance officer. Upon re-reading, I think you're right: "Article 35 requires that certain companies appoint data protection officers. Specifically, any company that processes data revealing a subject’s genetic data, health, racial or ethnic origin, religious belief...

Re: PowerBasic Kaput?

US companies actively violated german laws about customer data for many years. It is impossible for a company in the USA to violate German laws when they are not located in Germany and are not subject to German laws. If you order from a company based in the USA, that is where the point of sale is a...

Re: PowerBasic Kaput?

European Union Law I know its a ton of stuff you need to keep up with and many companies therefore simply ignore it, but you can hardly claim that it is done in secret ;) You cannot read all that stuff. You'd need a personal lawyer for that, but many don't have that. They can't even effort such a p...
