Re: PellesC static DLL in PB howto?

@chi Wow, Thanks. How did you find these inside secrets? :) np! I wrote a toolchain switcher (now abandoned) for PB a while back and have been doing some reading about compilers, linkers, etc. How they work, what they do.... And once you see the pattern, it's pretty easy to work through this kind o...

Re: PellesC static DLL in PB howto?

Go to Project options...\Compiler\Code generation, change to Multithreaded (LIB) and check "Omit default library name in object files". Under Library manager add the full path to crtmt64.lib (e.g. D:\DEV\PellesC10\Lib\crtmt64.lib). Works for me on Win7 x64 Pelles C 10 ;) Edit: This will ad...

Re: Need an unsupported API lesson

I agree, you should use Import over Prototype when calling an API function that's not available with PB out of the box, but if you use a function on a daily bases, it makes more sense to me to actually import (pbcompiler.exe /Import ...) the function by creating an .imp file. Sometimes you have to r...

Hehe, thanks for the nice review, loulou!
And thanks for finally getting me to correct the version info section. In retrospect, I don't know why I hesitated so long :)

Re: IceDesign (New) modern GUI designer

Hi ChrisR, very nice and intuitive UI! The only thing I'm missing is the ability to preview the window with XP theme support. Right now I can only preview with the classic window theme, which is a bit boring and also ruins the modern GUI WYSIWYG experience (since we are designing with XP theme turne...

Re: Blog post !

I also like the C format you showed. Allman style is by far the easiest to read. Nice. I didn't know about the names of these styles. I prefer K&R. It's more compact and also easy to read. I didn't know they had names either, but I've been using Gnu style since before I'd heard of either Gnu or...

VirtualDub FTW! howto sync
If you need something with a timeline or more control you could take a look at OpenShot, Kdenlive or just search for alternatives here

/PREPROCESS and IncludePath problem

Using pbcompiler.exe /PREPROCESS with the following code completely removes the IncludePath line from the output without prepending the path to the IncludeBinary file. Therefore the output is not able to compile... input.pb IncludePath #PB_Compiler_Home + "Examples\3D\Data" DataSection is:...

Maybe in case of error at compile time you could ask to continue from the original source.

Re: Blog post !

Do you suggest we collapse our lib's to a dll or can we create static libs in the future? Static libraries can be created even now. This is done by the tools TailBite , coffit and etc. But unfortunately they are very dependent on the PB static libraries. Switching to C won't change anything and the...

Re: [IDE Tool] pbOptimizer

@ChrisR Thanks for the code! It is pretty easy to fix, just remove 1 space char between LoadOrder and ( from: Declare.i LoadOrder (prefFile$) inside JSave.pbi and it works. I wasn't expecting more than 1 space char after the procedure name (I mean, who would do that???). Will be fixed soon! Fo...
