Re: For PB6?: pbpm - PB Package Manager

I am not too sure the package sources should all be hosted in the same git repository as I fear managing package versions, package specific tickets, will quickly become too difficult as you will end-up with a huge repository. Yes, I am aware of that. From the beginning, the CodeArchiv has the role ...

Re: [All OS] Module DateTime - Date as Double Since 1970

You can select any snapshot time from a graph and in that case, you select another point. Or you use a keyword search limited to the specific purebasic site on the wayback archive to find those other dependancies. The wayback machine is very useful, but in this case rather not. Sorry, but this is c...

Re: [All OS] Module DateTime - Date as Double Since 1970

Like many other old time users here, i did often run into sources and example / tool links to private websites, source repositories, ftp hosts etc. which disappeared throughout the years. Actually posting a source on the purebasic forum, was by far the most reliable and stable archive method. I mys...

Re: [Window, MacOS] Module DateTime - Date as Double Since 1

You are doing a lot of work with git. But for whom and for what ? Because Git is a version control software and version control is a must-have in development. When I search something in the forum I usually ask Google. With a Google search you get to the appropriate forum threads, yes, but then you ...

Re: For PB6?: pbpm - PB Package Manager

With the PB-CodeArchiv project on GitHub, I actually want to realize that in the end. But there is currently little interest in the PB community to manage codes in a versioning system like GitHub, which would actually be mandatory for a package manager. In addition, I have created a feature request ...

Re: [Window, MacOS] Module DateTime - Date as Double Since 1

@mk-soft: Your codes are always very good and cleanly written. Thanks a lot. :-) I just don't understand why we reinvent the wheel over and over again. The CodeArchiv project on GitHub is actually intended to collaborate on existing codebases and extend these together. @Saki: In the PB-CodeArchiv p...

Re: Allow underscore as separator for number literals

Whether they are used elsewhere is moot. Numbers are used in identifiers, yet you can also use them in literal constants too. The separator would be treated the same, but would not be allowed as the leading character I think it always makes sense to look where a character is already used in the syn...

Yes it is, to convert literal characters to their ASCII value:
Right. I forgot, although I often use it when working with string pointers. But it is the only case where the apostrophes are used.

Re: Allow underscore as separator for number literals

Tough call. Comparing C libs and other code without '_'s would be a nightmare. And this opens the door for many bugs. As well as slowing down the syntax checker. What if a macro inserts an underscore and gets interpreted as a number? I don't see a problem. The underscore is removed during compilati...

Allow underscore as separator for number literals

Would be nice if we could write like that:

Code: Select all

1_000_000

0.103_850

$6B_C7_5E_2D_63_10_00_00

%1111_0100_0010_0100_000_0

Re: FlipBook Module

Very cool, thanks a lot. 8) (the code is free to use, do whatever you want with it) I would like to add the code to the CodeArchiv so that the code doesn't get lost in the forum. The quoted text is a license to use the code freely, I'm just unclear if you also allow modifications and re-publications...

Re: Opening a console?

I once wished for this feature too and Fred implemented it, but in a later PureBasic (beta?) version he removed it again, because it probably caused problems.

I can not find my feature request here in the forum anymore. He apparently deleted the request after he integrated the feature.

Re: [Done] Remove the confusion with "Extends"

@Zach: Thanks. The thought came to my mind after I saw a code that looked something like this: abstract class Class1 {...} class Class2 extends Class1 { private Class1 value1 ; private Class1 value2 ; public Class2 (Class1 value1, Class1 value2) { this.value1 = value1 ; this.value2 = value2 ; } } c...

Re: [Done] Remove the confusion with "Extends"

@mk-soft: Thanks, but to make it clear: I know how the keyword Extends works. I have nothing against the explanations in the PB help. Of course, a programmer should have a look into the PB help if the function of a command is unclear, but the first thing you see is the command name in the code and ...
