Re: Roadpocalypse : A retro inspired survival game of ruined earth.

Holy crap!! I cannot believe what can be achieved with a terminal and characters but I should as I am from that era (heheheh).

Congratulations to a mind such as yours that can imagine this stuff.

Re: SideBarGadget

Wot dis supposed to do like den?? (hehehehehe) Good old English speak. I simply get a "The debugged executable quit unexpectedly" Using PB 6.02LTS. Funny thing, I also get the same error from the OpenFileRequester example from the help manual if used by itself and not in a program and I di...

Re: Use Sqlite . commands in pb?

Thanks for all the suggestions folks, lots to study there. I'm currently at 42,000 lines in my current project and it looks like it's going to be a whole lot bigger when I get through with it (If I live that long!!)

But what fun:)::)

Re: Use Sqlite . commands in pb?

Hello the.weavster, I have never heard of that one. Always thought that vacuum reclaimed wasted space but I guess that sort of makes sense. As for backup, I already do a file based, day of the week named backup for safety's sake. Just wanted to be able to do a dump or a restore from the SQL dump for...

Use Sqlite . commands in pb?

I wonder if it's possible to use the Sqlite . (dot) commands in pb as I want to dump and restore databases to/from SQL dump files? I suspect that it's not available to the inbuilt dll but maybe one of the sqlite experts would know? Spikey, InfraTec? Just an idea, it would be very useful and straight...

Re: Wouldn't it be interesting for every purebasic update to be paid?

I've been very happy with PureBasic and have developed the first stages of a core business application I've never done 'core business applications but a few small business tools that have been in use since 2008 and if a dummy like me can do it, anyone can. Had a lot of valuable help over the years ...

Re: [GAME] Santaban - A Christmas-themed Sokoban clone

Crikey! I haven't played a 'sokoban' type games since the old days of DOS and the original sokoban types and I remember solving the odd level or two then and now it's much harder for my old brain. Finally passed level one and realised how many more to go (Groooooaaaan). Great game Padraig, I can see...

Re: compiler not loaded yet

Add your purebasic compiler directory as a 'whitelisted' folder to whatever security software you use and it *should* work.

I used to have the same problem years ago and this fixed it for me.

Re: Multiple forms

Thanks for that Fangbeast, it's useful to hear the approaches used in multi-screen applications. I suppose you can split the screen form logic into separate include files and use PB's project capabilities to hold them together. That's the good part about any decent visual designer, the ability to c...

Re: Multiple forms

Are these 44 forms all within the same PB routine? And is there a single main source file? I assume you link to them from a single routine, rather than being separately executed. One main source file with xincludefile references for the compiler. One single event handler does all the forms. All for...

Re: Multiple forms

One of my current projects has 44 forms in it as there is a lot to do. However, I don't use the internal visual designer as I am not comfortable with the code it spits out. Some of my forms have sub-forms 2 or 3 deep depending on what I do at the time. PB has been able to do this as far as I remembe...

/me whispers "i actually started 40 years ago but was ashamed to admit how seriously crappy my stuff was and my colour choices blinded people so shhh, tell no-one"

:)

P.s 10 years to learn would not have been anywhere near long enough for me:)

Re: hobby coder

"embarrassingly" is right. With never versions of pb, some of my older stuff is obsolete and I have to remind myself to do it to the new commands etc.

And I joined in 2003 so I have some very, very old crap:):)

I look at some stuff I did 30 years ago and cringe so badly:):)
