Hi dobro,

Thank you for commenting. This was one of my favorite effects from PureBasic Interface to OpenCV.

I also like the link you posted, it really brings the image to life.

-----------------------------------

Updated:
- added 2 effects
-- convert to grayscale
-- convert to sepia

Convert to Grayscale: Executed from the context menu or by pressing 'G'.
Convert to Sepia: Executed from the context menu or by pressing 'S'.
- press the Spacebar to return to the main image
- press the Spacebar a second time to continue drawing

NB*: Save the image at anytime: WYSIWYG.

FRIENDS, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS ONE!!! The static screenshot in the first post doesn't do it justice -- it's animated and the animation itself is quite remarkable!! but what else is remarkable is how very little code there is!!! and even when you do look over the code you can't help but wonder "huh? where's the code that's doing all this magic!?!?" lol

The constants #White, #MB_ICONEXCLAMATION, #MB_ICONWARNING and #MB_ICONERROR are not defined on OSX.
The .ico images for the popup menu aren't loaded correctly.

I wanted to say ,
the method you use ,
Using a geometric shape to draw a picture
I had already made here: (2013 ;) )

http://forums.purebasic.com/english/vie ... 63#p404588

my program "Pure_autopaint", using different ways to paint a picture.
mode "Flocon" makes, may nearly the same result as your code :)

ImageImage

hum ! plagiarism? <-- (joking ) several people may have the same ideas

ps : since I made a sequel to "Auto_paint"
I called "Barbouille" (Smear)..( the sources are not available)
with Barbouille, it's full of drawing mode
ability to draw with the mouse
post treatment etc ..

download here : Barbouille ...

Hi Kwai chang caine,

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. I also find it 'magical' how the faces become recognizable after a time.

--------------------------------------------------

Hi Keya,

I agree, the algorithm for creating the effect is brilliant, wish I could take credit for it...

~ developed by Christopher Webb

--------------------------------------------------

Hi Wilbert,

Thanks for the comment and information, I should have it fixed shortly.

--------------------------------------------------

Hi davido,

Thank you, it is always nice to receive your support.

--------------------------------------------------

Hi dobro,

Your application looks great, and you're right the results look very similar... hmmm ! but the code I used was written in 2010/11 by Christopher Webb

lol, of course his surname is Webb. just had a look at the algorithm on his page you linked, i love it when there's hardly any code but it produces such a great effect!

dobro i just saw yours too, really awesome impressionist painting-like effect!

arf !! as I said, several people may have the same ideas .. :)

Personally, the idea came to me, watching a prog (Dynamic Auto Painter )
paint a picture of conversion: see here:

I do not know Christopher Webb ,it's interesting, thank you for the link :)

@Keya Thanks :)
