(Solved) Menu not displaying on MAC

Post by collectordave »

I am Using 5.4Beta.

Created small programme on windows version with a menu all works fine.

Move code to MAC running 5.4 beta and no menus appear. I have t5ried using the forms designer and it will not put a menu on a new form.

Am i missing something?

Well yes i was. Reading MAC for Dummies now!

Yes, Mac shows the menus at the top.
It is like that for all applications.
Windows (x64)
Raspberry Pi OS (Arm64)

collectordave dont feel bad it happened to me too! or ... we can feel bad together!
even though i had been using Mac for a few days since installing Purebasic on it, one of the earliest programs i tried to see how it would run on Windows+Linux+Mac was a simple button on a form and a menu. It seemed fine on Windows and Linux but it was nonexistent on Mac! embarrassingly i mustve wasted at least 10 minutes looking through my code and trying various things before I noticed that my application menu had become the main menu on Mac heehee!
(I too have since ordered some Mac beginner programming books) :)

Reading MAC for dummies and picking up some tips straight away.

The MAC does seem cleaner than Windows and a little more intuitive. Just have to get out of windows mode at times.

Thanks for the support and comments.
