Re: HTML5 Browser
Why so? Does perfection exist?Dude wrote:Well, that's just stupid... you can't have a target that is unattainable.
According the the allegory of the cave, Plato says we are only using approximations -shadows on the wall- of an ideal browser, so of course they can't hit the target. And that's how you use a thousands years old Greek guy to talk html parser...
Philosophy aside, https://html5test.com/ just test the support of some W3C API they deem worthy : they don't test ram occupation or JS parsing performance. It's neither a fair nor a complete test; so even a perfect score on it wouldn't reveal the perfect browser either.

@firace:
Yes, Windows is installed on the C drive on both computers.
(And the file "jscript9.dll" is exactly in the place that you wrote.)
On my notebook, where Forkle runs fine, it reads on the "About" page:
On the other machine, where I used exactly the same version of Forkle, I immediately get the mentioned error message after trying to launch the program. So I don't have a chance to open Forkle's "About" page on that PC.

Re: HTML5 Browser
Thanks for the feedback. Could you also check the version and timestamp of your urlmon.dll and wininet.dll files (also in the system32 directory)?Little John wrote:@firace:

If needed, I will try to make a test build with some debugging information in the next few days.

Please could you try the latest build (0.61.0.17)?Little John wrote:On the computer, where Forkle does not run (just tested again):Code: Select all

If the problem persists, a debugging file named forkle_dbg.log will be created in
your AppData\Local\Temp folder. Please post the contents of this file, which might point to the cause of the issue.

For now, the latest build supports Keepass's Global Auto Type feature, which is quite convenient.

Yes, it is. I use it very often.firace wrote:For now, the latest build supports Keepass's Global Auto Type feature, which is quite convenient.
I just downloaded the most recent version.
I still get that error message immediately after launching the program.
Content of "forkle_dbg.log":

Thanks. I have found and fixed a possible issue with file version detection.Little John wrote:Yes, it is. I use it very often.firace wrote:For now, the latest build supports Keepass's Global Auto Type feature, which is quite convenient.

Could you update to 0.61.0.18 and try again?

Re: HTML5 Browser
You are welcome.
Currently I'm testing Forkle on my USB thumb drive. Forkle works fine there especially because it's so fast.
I'm having a small issue, though:
Each time a new page is shown (e.g. after clicking at an URL or after pressing [Alt]+[<-]), Forkle generates a sound. This is annoying for me. How can I switch that sound off?

At work (Win7 64x). I'm not sure if this warning is generated by your program or by the system (the MessageRequester only says "Security Warning" in the title, nothing that would indicate that it belongs to your tool) and no log file is generated in the directory you specified earlier.---------------------------

On Windows 10? Weird, I thought that setting was off by default.Little John wrote:You are welcome.

This is an old system setting - try disabling it in your system sound settings. In Win 10 you can access those settings using Win + R, then type:
control /name Microsoft.Sound /page Sounds
