MP3D - Tile Collisions (Help)

Not sure if I should have posted this to the MP3D thread.

I hope someone can help me with this, I've been struggling with this off and on for years and still haven't found a suitable solution, it doesn't seam to matter how many YouTube video or websites I read about the subject I can only get close, but then for some reason or other it breaks.

While the above functioned when it came to adding gravity, well the results where a mess it appeared as while he stopped when on the floor that every other collision decided to fail, it works in the video because I'm controlling the up/down movements.

The main problem is (if you run the below program) keeping the box within the map area while it functions, sort of as has been the case for many years, it breaks in others.

(requires a joystick) - or additional code for keyboard, which I'd add if I could get it going properly.
