PB EDITOR - Preferences - Editor - Display multiple rows

Hi, I use a lot of opened files at the same time (>100 files)
so when I want to select it in the file selector (right - arrow down),
it takes a lot of time to find the file I need.
Q) Is it possible to use a scroll-down area for it ?

So now I use the
-> Preference
--> Editor
---> Display multiple rows option
to visualize the opened files, but this take a very long time, to switch.
Q) is there a reason for it, it takes so long time to switch back and forward ?
