Just bought a new MAC running BigSur.
Downloaded Xcode(13) and installed.
Downloaded PB 5.73 LTS
Attempted to install but the computer tells me it cannot check the application for malicious software and will not run PB.
What am I missing?

Re: BigSur installation
Could this be something to do with Xcode?
I notice that all Xcode 13 versions are Beta.
Will try an earlier version.

Re: BigSur installation
Ah well
New Computer Syndrome
On my old one it prompted me automatically to allow unknown apps. This one didn't even with the same settings.
Allowed PB to run in settings and all works great.

Re: BigSur installation
I had PB installed on previous OSX with XCode and all working.
Then upgraded to Big Sur PB still working.
Later on also XCode upgraded and PB still runs (haven't test it further yet).
Maybe that gives a possible way to try something out.

Yeah I know, but keep in mind ... Leonardo da Vinci was also an autodidact.

From this website:
https://thewiredshopper.com/apple-canno ... are-error/
BTW:
It became normal for macOS PB users it reinstall the Xcode command-line app package every time Xcode is updated in order to keep PB running.
This has to do with Big-Sur not allowing certain things anymore (OS safety...).
Yes, it's a nuisance.

Hope you get it installed. If you are like thousands of people hit by this simple bug or “Security Feature”, Here is a quick two second fix on How To Open the Software that throws “Can’t Be Opened Because Apple Cannot Check For Malicious Software” Error
Open Finder
Traverse through to “Applications” Folder
Highlight the software you are trying to Open
Press “control”
Right “Click” & Select “Open”
Voila.. Your software should now open without any issues. Most software will open without any issues after the first time but if you encounter it again use the same process. For some of you who like videos walkthrough, here is a nice one…
