SimpleFE MAME Frontend

I've uploaded an alpha version of a frontend that I have been working on to my EasyEmu site. It's called Simple FE and is designed to be a fast, lightweight launcher for MAME. Be aware that SFE is not designed to be a replacement for the lovely graphical frontends, it is very plain in comparison and certainly not user friendly for the beginner.

The idea was to make a portable launcher that works with the command line interface of MAME. It doesn't have hundreds of buttons and menus and you need to know a bit about the command line options on MAME to get the most out of it.

Simple FE is in a very alpha state and probably contains loads of bugs which is why I would like some feedback (Please be kind!). I really have no idea how it performs on different machines. I have a 9900K and it's pretty fast on that.

At the moment SFE only supports Windows but I have plans for a Linux version. I just want to get rid of the bugs first.

Some Features...

Software list support
Flexible command line support
Portable and lightweight (Only creates two files)
Simple filtering
Folder ini support
Snap, Title & Icon support
Dat file support (mameinfo, history, messinfo, sysinfo, gameinit & story)
Create folder ini files
Save gamelist to clipboard

Here's the zip and source.

you also need the vectoricon.pbi from here.

Not to be rude... but, why are doing this, if it exist?

The screenshoot you are showing is almost identical to the WinMAME Frontend...

It looks similar, but it isn't. MAMEUI is slow, clunky and bloated compared to vanilla MAME. This program is portable, small in size and allows multiple configs per machine. This is great for me as I mostly use the command line for running MAME. As I said, it's not a replacement for a frontend, it's just a lightweight launcher.

Thank you for your feedback.
