Hi,

I have updated from PB 5.60 to 5.70 LTS x64-64 bit for Windows, and the form designer is not displaying things properly:

1. there is a horizontal as well as a vertical white bar across my form

2. the text displayed in buttons and so on are not displayed properly, the text is wider than when i run the program, see shots below

3. the properties section bottom right is not displaying things fully

Image

this is what the gui actually looks like when running the program and as you can see, the text in buttons and so on is not displayed the same as in design mode

I tried PB 5.70 LTS full version for Windows (x86 32-bit) and I have the same display problems

I had no such problems with 5.60 ... I have reinstalled 5.60 and this is what it looks like, you can see the problems by comparing the 2

As suggested by a forum member, i switched my laptop dpi from 125% to 100% and no longer had the problem.

The same member suggested i report it as a bug.

Hi

Concerning the properties palette, just dragging out more should help. The other issues show that the Designer is not fully DPI aware - that is true of many applications on Windows because they were designed before LCD screens in all shapes and resolutions came along!

So, not really a bug, but enhancement required. Or buy a bigger monitor :)

1. i did drag out the properties palette to no avail

2. i can't say that i have come across apps that are not dpi aware, it's the first time for me and i do a lot of stuff on my laptop ... given that version 5.6 was dpi aware and 5.70 is not, i don't think of it as an enhancement although i can see how it could be argued that it is :) i do most of my programming on a laptop so getting a bigger monitor is not and should not be an option, lol :)

thank you for your thoughts :)

This is my view on my laptop, Dell XPS 13 9360. Not so easy to work with.
The resolution on the screen is 3200 x 1800.
