Do users actually read documentation?
My software (the billing stuff) is super intuitive (I hope!) so I don't really think that much documentation is needed. I'm thinking of going to a FAQ style doc that just hits some "How do I" points and leaves it at that.
The risk of doing what I say above is that the software might appear less professional if I don't hand-hold a user all the way through every aspect of the software!
