the german notation is
don't ask me why, I don't have any ethymologic information on this.
Bach was german, so his music is in H-moll, B-minor is just the english translation.
Code: Select all
cis dis fis gis ais
des es ges as b
C D E F G A H C

oh... and have a nice day.
So, there is no B in German for music notation?Kaeru Gaman wrote:the german notation isdon't ask me why, I don't have any ethymologic information on this.Code: Select all

the B is the H with one b, same as A with one #,
on the piano the black key between A and H.
this one is called B.
so, if you have german music notated in B-moll, its Bb-minor.
it's just a different notation, where is the problem?
in other languages it's Do Re Mi Fa So La Si Do, they dont even have an A...
and don't ask me, how it is notated in Chinese or on Bali.

I found the answer:
in German music notation the letter B designates B flat while the letter H, which is actually a deformation of a square B, designates B natural

Thanks!
