agree - srod-soft sounds too much like a male impotency cure (snigger)Brice Manuel wrote:With the way some filtering works, it might be a good idea to avoid anything with "soft" and "rod" in the url or nameI would avoid srod-soft.com like the plague
You could always try this domain name generator:
http://blogoscoped.com/domaingenerator/
adding a "-" often finds a *vacant* domain - eg: blow-fish.org / ez-soft.org
or preceding a name with an i / e / x or adding a "-uk" as in "esys-uk.com"
or "camcom-uk.com" often gets results.
Its frustrating 'cos so many good domains are registered but there is no live site. Just a domain parked in the event that someone might be willing to pay for it...
anyway - my suggestions:
fairware.biz (for donation software) / fareware.biz (for commercial software)
fairware-uk.com

During the .com boom a lot of people and companies bought up every decent domain they could lay their hands on for the sole purpose of reselling it to someone at a ridiculous price for huge profits.
From what I understand the tactic didn't work out though because most people that wanted the snapped up domains simply created an alternative rather than pay the high prices that were being asked.
I would bet that at least 95% of those domains that were bought for that purpose still belong to the original purchaser unless they finally gave up and quit paying the registration fees.
Net result most people and companies that participated in that non-sense ended up loosing money instead of making it.
