ReuniForm free tool for easy Gadgets use...

Post by Joris »

I hope it's allowed to publish this tool also here. (Otherwhise please leave a link to the starting topic for it. Which is this one, already messed up by some stupid arguing : viewtopic.php?f=14&t=76196&hilit=reuniform)

Hi, PB people hereby I release my free tool ReuniForm.

I hoped I could put all files here on the forum. Not posibble so on my private webspace (for as long I decide...)
http://www.vdvb.be/PB%20Stuff/ReuniForm ... 20Data.zip
http://www.vdvb.be/PB%20Stuff/Reuniform.gif
Image
Inside the zip are just three files (+200kB):
ReuniForm.exe
ReuniForm Defaults.txt
ReuniForm Preset Data.txt

A program to setup a UI with all the gadgets in use by PB. There exist more of those programs, but this one, to me, is really a great pleasure to use.
It's still a work in progress, yet this version is qua functionality almost definite.
Lot of things are tested and work bug free, but the possibilities are enormous and so, your help is welcome. Also as tips or ideas.
Every comment, help or bug report should be done in this topic. I will follow this, as long as I like too and can,
but for now I need to pack my stuff for a little vacation (12 days).
I still need to complete the manual but there is already a small explaining on board for the most important things.
I will try hereby include a gif, which shows the most important part of those functionality (if not to big as it is +9MB).

I intend to make a OSX version and a Linux (Ubuntu) ... but that will all be new to me.
So patiance...

Thanks

Shouldn't this be moved to "MISCELLANEOUS- Announcement" or "SHOWCASE- Applications - Feedback and Discussion" as it is not part of the official PureBasic Form Designer.

The program does not work with scales above 100%.
Required offsets are not considered.
The author wanted an evaluation and advice.
But unfortunatelly, the author considers support of higher scales to be the idea of stupid people.
The user interface is unacceptable.
A source code is not offered, I think it is probably not optimized, like also the included readable data file.
As a replacement for e.g. the PB Designer, or just as a suggestion for any optimization in PB Designer absolutely not suitable.
I'm sorry I can't write anything else here.
The author feels immediately attacked and offended,
which activates the usual people and so quickly ends in a garbage and bashing thread.

It does not interest me at all.

So I really have nothing more to say.

I have never called someone stupid.
I can find an idea stupid, but that's something else, and even that I didn't do.
I asked to explain why scaling should be usefull for Reuniform, and you didn't.
But now I become sure you have a big personal problem. Something out of scale.

Use it or leave it like I asked before.

Take a look at the selected mouse positions and the "real" positions the gadget will be created:

Well ok, that works not easy, yet the fix seems to be a big part as
even the check marks are gone when you work with other scales.
I just use the standard Gadgets which are part of and OS depended,
Then how do you explain that missing check mark ? How do you fixed that ?
How do you get multiple checks in those (tree) gadgets ?

I don't wont to go using custommade gadgets, that is far behind the initial purpose.
Yet, maybe I'll change some things, if it is not that big job.
I advise simply don't scale when you create a UI with Reunifrorm.

Otherwhise show me a SIMPLE SMALL CODE EXAMPLE with normal working checkbox
gadgets and a vector-rectangle on which a button gadget becomes placed,
that makes use of scaling (because I can't test that on my old PC).
Yeah I know, but keep in mind ... Leonardo da Vinci was also an autodidact.

The checkmarks are not gone, I just didn't check any of them.
Just try it, selecting the button item is enough.

This "scaling" is nothing we do temporarily, it is needed for high res monitors, otherwise we all are sitting in front of our monitors with glasses thicker than bricks.
For me it doesn't matter, it's only my main monitor which has 4K resolution, I could use your tool on one of the others.

For one item it might be possible, but how do you know/see them, when you need to check multiple parameters for one type of gadget ?
Afterwords you can make a 'gadget-preset-setup' for all those selections, but you have to make them first.

P.s. I still have no idea how I should make my code DPI aware. I'm not a pro and I also havent been using some DPI aware code, so... a small good example (not something that needs hours to study, I have other stuff to make, other things to do.)

To me it seems like a construction worker needs to have a magnifying glass in front of his nose to properly brick those bricks. ;-)
