And you don't wanna pay for it?
The english grammar is freeware, you can use it freely - But it's not Open Source, i.e. you can not change it or publish it in altered way.

I didn't say that it should be free, only that it should be ad-free

I've been happy with DropBox, although I am not completely sure if my adblocker stops the ads, or if there aren't any. They have free and paid. Of course, it has disadvantages, but all file hosting does.

I was asking because usually you do not have any ads if you invest a few bucks a month.
For example here in Germany you can get for 3€/month 250GB of space ad-free: https://www.strato.de/cloud-speicher/
I guess there are also some providers where you even pay less than that. But I can not help with the question about "the best" one.

@NicTheQuick
I looked at some services that charge $10 a month, most also offer a free plan but I am almost sure that the free plan has ads
but I am not sure that the paid version would not show ads to whoever wants to download a file, it would probably not show ads to me.
@DarkDragon
I have Google Drive but it's extremely slow, I don't want to touch One Drive

i used it a few times ... i didn't see any Ads , neither did my Customers ,
but that was a year or so ago , maybe they might have changed it ?

test it out for yourself , let us know results .

pretty good , but you have to pay for it .

if you create a phpBB Forum on your Website
you can attach a ZIP file in your Forum , your Customers can downloaded it
it can be attached in a typical Forum post
or
you can enable attachments in Private Messages in your Forum to the the same thing ,
in that way , only the person you want to receive the ZIP file will be able to do so !

there's a limit to ZIP file size though ... i forgot what it is ?
... you can possibly change the Default attached File size in phpBB Forums

Jack, you can try www.docdroid.net

It is only possible to upload document formats (e.g. pdf, doc, ppt etc.), but there is no content check.

You can also upload a ZIP archive if you rename it to .pdf ;-)

For uploading you have to fill out a captcha, but downloading is ad-free. You have to click on download in the upper right corner when trying to display the file as pdf.

Here is an example: https://docdro.id/9kVbWNF
It is an zipped image file.
PB 6.02 x64, OS: Win 7 Pro x64 & Win 11 x64, Desktopscaling: 125%, CPU: I7 6500, RAM: 16 GB, GPU: Intel Graphics HD 520, User age in 2023: 56y

■ You can also create your own hosting in 5 minutes on a shared server with OwnCloud.

I'd suggest a bit SNEAKY (if call it so, lol) way to use Github pages, like one I'm using now for my "useless homepage".
It's free, it has no ads, it provides hostname, provides SSL cert and has no other problems with uptime, accessibility, security, privacy, etc, which many free hostings may have.

But it's suitable only for static pages with some client-side scripts (if not connect something external), and it's usable mostly to host something related to your code or text, not to host lot of gigabytes of random files (for that it's possible to build something based on google drive, probably).
Anyway, Github itself is a perfect variant to just host some "useless homepage" and nothing more than it. Hope MS will not remove this further after buying it, I don't like to make such a homepage too complicated and using full "backend", or requiring more efforts.

// sorry didn't seen that topic is not more actual, before writing this all. anyway, maybe useful for someone else ^^
