Yes. The difference is that you receive pleasure when you realize the nightmare it is a lie, but when you have a extemely sweet dream and wake up and you see it was a lie, then begins a real angryness and nightmare.

Kernfusion (as we call it in german - maybe it's called 'atomic fusion' in english?) will generate more energy than you have to put in. As a result you will just get a different atom.
So far the newest experimental fusion-reactors can hold the required plasma for about 10 minutes.
Maybe we will see first professional fusion-reactors within the next 20 years . which COULD bring energy costs down A LOT.
(But I'm sure, the big companies will find a way to even increase energy costs, even if it will nearly costs them nothing. )

For me it's very hard not to believe the internet, I don't know why. At the same time I realize that most of virtual stuff is crap. But it is surprisingly so pleasant to believe fakes
