[GAME] Sweet Match

Post by neuronic »

Hi everyone!

I have just finished and uploaded my latest game onto my website: Sweet Match. Again this is a small logical puzzle game, similar to my previous one, Sweet Tiles.

Making the game
The idea came from an old Amiga game. I was browsing the website of Lemon Amiga (https://www.lemonamiga.com) and I found a game called Pharaohs Match (https://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=4222). I thought I should make a game like this as I love these small puzzle games. After creating a prototype I realised that the game is not as challenging as I had expected it to be, so I decided to use the code and the assets of Sweet Tiles as the base of this game. As you can see, I kept a lot of the original assets, but changed the background images and the music.

The game is a lot easier to play than I had originally anticipated, but I think it is still a fun and relaxing game.

How to install
The game is available as an install package or as a zip archive. You can find a DirectX 9 and a DirectX 11 version. If you choose to install the game using the installer, the icon/shortcut will start the DirectX 9 version. Of course this can easily be changed.

The Linux version is also available as a tar.gz package. I compiled it on Ubuntu 20.04.

Download
You can download it from my website: https://www.nightloversgamestudio.net

Have fun playing it!
