PureBasic mentioned on TIOBE Index..

Post by chikega »

I know it's mentioned just in passing and as an example of a Basic variant, but of the hundreds of Basic language dialects out there that could have been cited, PureBasic happened to be mentioned as an example of a Basic dialect and it doesn't even register in the top 100 languages. A few other Basic variants are in the top 100. I thought that was pretty cool 8)

Thanks for sharing :)

Would love to see more love around Purebasic.
I love the performance, the cross-platform, the IDE, license model and that it's still being maintained.

I wasn't even aware it existed until 2022. Found it accidentally by searching for some retro BASIC stuff....

It's pretty neat that they chose to name PureBasic as first non-Microsoft Basic programming language.
Cudos to Fred & team.

Just updated the Basic language dialects Wikipedia webpage you mentioned to incorporate all the different platforms PureBasic compiles for, including the C compiler output.
The mention of native Apple silicon compilation will hopefully make [Mac] people jump onto PureBasic...
:P

I am to provide the public with beneficial shocks.
