Yeah, don't know the server configuration, but it should support 1000's of requests before seeing delays as long as yesterday.

I made a post yesterday, before my first post in this thread. That post is not present today after things have appeared to return to normal today.

Was there a rollback of some sort due to software or server problems?

If the problem is server side:
When it lasts a few hours, it may be due to the time it takes to rebuild data after a RAID-5 disk crash
Another classic problem if it's a MySQL database: the transaction logs saturate after a while and this requires actions that only the admin (DBA) can do.

It was an internet malfunction of the router connections ...

The response time of some routers was poor. Sometimes over 100 ms
It's working again now.

I also did a traceroute yesterday and the timings were normal from my point of origin, yet the site was slow.
I did one now (with the forum working normally) and the timings are roughly the same, also the routing is through the same machines.

Was definitely issues server-side... I've experienced the issue and was only w/PureBasic server, everything else was smooth and speedy. Basically like what someone else said, 10-25 secs delays. If there was something Fred addressed, he would of had something more than what was for his response, so It was something else and something that was already mentioned. Anyways later yesterday things was back to normal, and is remains stable all today.

It's again very slow indeed. Is there an issue with the hoster?

A traceroute looks good so far so it is not an issue with networking. It's the application (PHP, database) or the host itself.

Code: Select all

traceroute to www.purebasic.fr (163.172.93.88), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets

The server is hosting 4 phpbb forums (2 of them are very bigs) and the main PB/SB web site. It can be slow from time to time, no need to worry if it doesn't last too much. It is blazing fast right now.

The slow of these days was far from acceptable, now it's slow at times, but it can be used.

Please bare in mind we provide the forums for free for anyone, we can't put it on AWS or Azure to have perfect performances at anytime as it would be way too expensive. As said, there is backups, download, other websites running on the same dedicated server, and it can affect the user experience from time to time.
